Ann Arbor Babywearers 1-25-11

I’m officially too big to bring Judah anymore because I can’t chase her!

So I borrowed a twin! Thanks mamma!

And fell in love with Natural Silk Nino. This ringsling is from Lauren's collection :) It is so SOFT! I am so excited to carry the new baby in it.

We all fell in love with Natural Silk Nino. :)

It's texture is so soft and dense. The silk and the cotton are blended, rather than a 2 faced weave like my Tussah silk nino, giving a much softer feel :)

Thanks for the loan gals! You look great in Zara Forest. :)

Ok on to the highlights of the meeting!!!  Another amazing group full of all kinds of babywearing questions about all kinds of babywearing devices :)

Ergo Hip Carry

Nursing one while wearing another :)

Comfy Babies, Confident Mamma. :) this is a Girasol Woven Wrap and a Olives and Applesauce Carrier. :)

Girasol Amitola with Purple Weft . :)

Hopps are amazing ruck wraps!!! La Paz looks awesome on Lauren, no?

This mamma is trying to pick a woven. Today she tried Tussah Silk Fish (Lauren you might be evil :) ) and I think she fell hard!!!

Total approval :)

Amitola with Yellow weft, is so beautiful on blondes!

Wendy and trav look amazing in their Burgundy Pfau

Party at my house after with the Flint Ladies!!!

Jade Deli and Tokyo Hopp in an RUB

Nice deep seat in a soft wide Tokyp Hoppaditz

We all gushed about the wrapping qualities of Viola Ellipses and Tadgh :)

Oh, and NSN, did I mention the snuggly softness of it? I might have to find one in wrap form for the new baby. :)

The ringsling keeps her out of the way of the big belly, but still close for snuggles.

Weekend and monday fun

Lucy and Her Mamma came by for a at MY home babywearing session, because of my delicate condition. Lucy and Katie are on the search for true and lasting comfort.

Tried out RUBing with Katie's Night rainbow shorty with my doll, and I think we decided that it was a bit short.

We tried her in a couple of longer shorties in different brands and her concerns about wether or not she could secure a good knot disappeared.

I really think that ellevill Jade weave wraps are some of the best short wraps out there for single layer carries. :) Great Ruck Tied Under the Bum Katie!

Sarah's birthday was a beautiful gathering of her family and friends. We were so happy to be included. :)

Lion and Sarah's Niece had a blast being prince and princesses together!

Lion wore his doggy to Nanna's for an awesome overnight and next day adventure!

Monday morning was home with Judah for some extra time and her took every chance to wrap her that he could get.

Lauren's Rocky Rosa by Rbdmamma is an inspiration for a future dye job. I think it looks amazing on Kyle!

He brushed her hair until she fell asleep and they cuddled all afternoon.

Both Kyle and Judah's hair are a bit wild lately

Rosalinde 50% linen from didymos is a truly soft yummy wrap. I am ever grateful for this loan.

I was totally cheered by my dear friends coming by on monday to bring me yummy thai food and help me think about something besides how many contractions i am having :)

They brought their sweet cheerful wrap geeking selves, and we had such a fun time trying, trading, and comparing things. It seriouly was the highlight of my week! Thanks guys!!!

My temporary trade haul was amazing and uplifting! Plus Rocky Rosa there is Green wool fish, hemp honeywrap and Grey Cashmere Sweetplace.

Thanks for the serious cheer me up guys!

Girasol Amitola. I haven’t fallen this hard in a long time.

I got home from Ann arbor babywearers last week and I had a Package from finland on my doorstep.  I knew the moment that I saw this wrap that I was totally head over heels in love with this beautiful colorset in the dark purple weft.  The Sunny gold yellow original weft version has been a joy here ever since it showed up.  Here they are side by side:

Amitola is a rainbow made up of one stripe of each of the available colors in a girasol exclusive :) You can see how the weft of a wrap really changes it's Tone.

Up even closer

The rich Berry colored tones on this side of the wrap are amazing to my eye. What I was most pleased with about this wrap, was that the purple weft seems to be heftier than the yellow, making the wrap overall heavier in weight, and great for wrapping Judah in :)

The yellows are beautifully muted.

Wrapped the other side up, the vibrant blue is striking!

Judah was really fussy and teething this week, which gave us extra wrapping time.

View from behind

Owie! Teeth!

Finally asleep, I would like to conclude that I am totally in love with this rainbow beauty. I haven't fallen this hard since the first time, with my first rainbow, Night rainbow 1. I think these 2 will be my 2 long rainbow wraps forever. :) I hope :)

An active week of pre-labor and doll wearing!

Judah is going through a phase of wearing dolls again which I am grateful to see. :)

Multasking little mamma :)

She really seems to totally prefer ringslings :)

Judah is really loving coloring in a new way this week :)

SHe is also helping me with my nesting while lion is at school. she loved reorganizing the wraps with me as we had regular contractions all day Friday :)

She was so excited about all of the wrappers!

My Lending library suitcase is a regular adventure in peekaboo and hide and seek :)

Daddy loves this Pic.

She snuggles with daddy for bedtime almost every night in a wrap lately.

The next day she napped in Tussah Silk fish. This really supportive wrap lifted the big girl weight right off of my contracting belly.

Oh the endless Cuteness!!!!

We seem to have slowed down in the labor department, after 3 days of regular contractions, which is great.  Honestly I believe that the longer the baby stays in the better, well happier it will be to come out.  I am really looking forward to Ann Arbor Babywearers today!!

But first, an experimental entry. :)

Ann Arbor Babywearers 1-18-11

First order of the meeting is always to help the youngest babies. :) this one jumped from a moby to a woven for the first time in Panama Hopp.

THis sakura bloom silk ringsling is brand new, just like it's occupant. :) I bet it will look a lot more broken in next time we see them, look how comfy and happy this mamma-baby pair is!

Lindsay is becoming a pro, and loving making her own wraps from fabric at fabric stores.

It's a good thing we have a regular twin mamma now because look who came back from Downunder :) and decided to tackle tandem wearing! There was no more perfect pair than these two twin mammas :)

I love peacock old weave girasol. I wish I could sleep in it! Look how comfy!!!

and a switch up to one of my favorite twin combos, a wrap/carrier combo. :)

Oh Linkon, we all think your cool!

I think a wrap pod will soon be in Barbs stash. Mira rides like she's in a pod most of the time anyway! :)

Petrol Pfau looked awesome on Moonbeam and Ferris right? Look at how much Ferris is Growing!

It was so great to see these four ladies reunited!!!

Beautiful Ruck on my goddaughter in Snow Rainbow Girasol.

Fire Fish was really made for these ladies.

These two are learning to use their babyhawk in many different ways. It feels like a new one each week! :)

Another day with a great turnout and lots of new mammas. I am overjoyed!!!

The only thing that is Truly Permastash is my Wrapee!

A great online TBW friend once said. (thanks Keek)  She is so right!

Teething boogers and all she is still melting our hearts on a minute by minute basis

Yesterday morning she sat down very purposefully to read me a story. :)

she named all the things she knew in the pictures very well! And as you can see, kept a barret inher hair for almost 15 minutes in a row! :)

Thats right. Brains and Beauty folks. We are in so much trouble. :)

On The Babywearer.com, one of my friends asked us to gather our favorite wraps, the ones that we will never sell, even when our babywearing days are over, our “permastash” wraps if you will.  With the exception of a couple, these are the ones I chose and why.

Sorry for the messy pile, but it was teh best I could do with the time the kids gave me. These wraps are ones that I Never could part with, even though I feel that way about most of my wraps, the following are why these particular ones are special.

Top to bottom:
Silk indio grad summers day by a fellow tbw’er mamma.  lemonadelucy was the welcome wagon back in my day, and a real inspiration to me with her beautiful pictures of wrapping , wraps and europe. This end to end grad has helped me teach so many people so many carries because it is so easy to follow with the eye. It also hooks many a new mom or mom to be with it’s softness and beauty. It is true forever love.

Red/Black Indio 5 was my first indio, my first back carry with Judah, and just the perfect weight, and look for me. I love every ruck learning memory attached to it sooooo much!

Violet white 6, my first real ISO (In Search Of) . In my humble opinion one of the most beautiful wraps ever made. ’nuff said.

Lila Azzuro 6 is an amazing midweight linen indio that soothes and comforts me with it’s amazing beauty. I could never wear it enough. its subtle contrast and water like shimmer and heavenly feel make me feel like a mother goddess every time I wrap anything, even my doll,  in it. perma-stash

Goldfish linen 6 was my first direct from didy stalking a new release experience. I love its softness and beauty, again, one of the prettiest didies in my opinion. I love it’s lightweight support and the beauty of the look of the shimmery fish swimming all around me and my lo.

Jade Deli le 3m is my favorite shorty ever. I know It’s kinda long to be a shorty but I dont care.  it rocks every carry that can be done with a short or midlegnth wrap. and its going to have made it through all 3 kids when this last one comes out!

Deep sea fish 6 has seen many somber events as well as happy snuggles. I gave my dearest friends eulogy in it last september while a big toddler slept in it on my front and was about 18 wks pregnant. serious attachment and also a wonderful workhorse-to-snuggle mommy-or-daddy wrap.
want to add that I love the fish wraps because we are scuba divers in my family and adore the ocean.

Atlantic nino 6-7 Is the last wrap my biggest boy ever fell asleep in, and his legacy wrap. I love Didymos! And I guess this is their symbol, no matter what it looks like.

Girasol Rastamamma 5.2 see this thread on TBW:
http://www.thebabywearer.com/forum/s…y-Special-Wrap!

fall 07 winter weight pamir 4.6, my holy grail for wrapping qualities. It is everything I love in a wrap. dense moldable supportive and forgiving.

Pre middle marker natty linen 6. there are books about why natty linen is the perfect wrap on THe Babywearer.com. this one is no different.  it is soft and moldable and just the right heftyness for me. I think it’s silky and lila azzuro like. another that will have wrapped all 3 of my babies once this one comes out!

close runners up were choco wide SUT, because of babywearing school ties, and my 3 red pfaus because once I se them together they will be a gem of my collection I think and a real treasure

Hope you enjoyed my little geek session!  I can’t wait for the new baby to be wrapped in these wraps especially. :)  Ann Arbor Babywearers is today, and the weather is terrible.  I really hope some people show up!

Happy Wearing Everybody!

The Re-Birth of Firefish

Thats right! Introducing Fire Fish, The Losi Oval Track Race Car, funded by Kyles 1 hard to find wrap love, Didymos Fire fish. :)

Kyle in Fire Fish, with a sleepy and happy Judah! Fabulous transformation!

The large fin has a school of didy fish. :)

Sponsored by Didymos

He's added a few more fish since these pictures, but other than that, Fire Fish goes out for it's first official debut at practice night at The Washtenaw Raceway Tonight! Wish "the team" Good Luck!

The time in between one tuesday and the next.

35 weeks and wearing judah on the front is becoming really difficult :) This is last wednesday in a Mei tai, which really helped get me a quick up for a fussy tired baby. she was down in bed 15 minutes after I turned on the clothes dryer and closed the laundry room door. . .

Wednesday I went back to this sweet client for our first advanced babywearing lesson. Look how well they have mastered the basics! It has been amazing to watch this sweet preemie grow to be the big 11 lb boy he is. :)

This wondeful mamma has amazing taste in wraps. This one is Girasol Exclusive Romantique

First back carry in a Rucksack Carry Tied Tibetan

Beautifully done!

I even got to wrap sweet R in my beautiful Pfau gift from my sweet friends around the world.

Thursday we watched Baby Bo (as Judah says) and we loved it! She is such a sweet baby!

Sweet happy eyes!

Some quick pics of our saturday morning fun

Judah picked out Lions pajamas as her outfit to go to Dommy's house for the night. I'm pretty sure these two kids are growing really close. :) :)

I look forward to them having their own Kid Culture, and creative play together, outside of our parent world.

It's already happening. :)

We went out Sunday morning to The Zingermans Roadhouse for my fathers 65th birthday! Fabulous Gluten free sweet potato fries! We were so happy!

I was as relaxed as one can be at 35 ish weeks pregnant. We spent alot of the time while the kids were on their sleepover working on our home and discussing names for the baby. :)

My parents are a great example of how life gets better as you get older :)

Thanks to them I have an amazing amount of Spykes Grove Honeybell Tangelos in my kitchen.

I do believe they are a grapefruit cross, and as you can see, we have giant ones and tiny ones. I think I find the tiny ones stronger, and the giant ones sweeter. They are so juicy that they are unpeelable, you have to either cut and eat over the sink, or just juice them. :) We also have these amazing "sippers" from the grove guys who grow these things. They designed a straw like device you can stick in the orange and suck out the juice with. It's great fun! I'll grab a pic of the kids today, Judah has not taken to it at all. :)

These last few nights Judah has been sleeping poorly due to major teething which came with a huge amount of extra fluid draining through her head! Here is the princess, propped up for her afternoon nap in mommy & daddy's bed.

Ann Arbor Babywearers 1-11-11

Where’s Becca been?

The camera got Juiced!!!!!! (literally got Juice dumped on it.)  Can you imagine my torture?  Thanks to my ever generous father, Ann Arbor Babywearers is going to be graced with a Becca with a new camera in her hand!  So I promise a fat juicy picture filled post tomorrow.

I just didn’t feel right blogging without pictures.  So Back in a flash!

here were the camera’s dying shots

Ann Arbor babywearers had what I think was it's biggest meeting ever. There were so many parents and babies not in this picture! I've decided to make a sign in sheet so we can start keeping track of these things better. I guess its obvious by now I'm no organizational genius, just a babywearing mamma on a mission!

The boys in Zara Forest. Lion still craves closeness from time to time and asks to be wrapped.

Judah and I breaking in the beautiful and subtle and supportive Blue Silk Rhombus

And one last goodbye wrap for toscana ellipses. She is going to be much better loved somewhere else I think. :) despite her beauty.
