The Baba Sling – Its a Ringsling With a Buckle Instead of a Ring!!

I have finally got my hands on a new sling called The Baba Sling.   And let me tell you, it is pretty cool.  I’m not about to chuck out my ringslings as I really enjoy the on the fly adjustability of the rings on front.  However the Baba Sling is really great and totally useable in all of the proper positions and adjustable and safe.  It is perfect for someone who wants a very simple clean look and a fast hip or front carry, and doesn’t mind getting used to setting up their sling in advance and just like any carrier with a buckle, adjusting it between users.  I had a  wonderful time playing with it with my friends 4 week old baby and I found it fully adjustable and wonderful when used according to directions.  See the video links below for the little baby and how he looks in The Baba Sling.

Kyle and I  agree it is comfy. But for us, since we are dye hard ringslingers, its hard to get used to the adjustments being on the back. It is best used by setting it up before you put it on and put the baby in.  Check out the video below on how to adjust it and load the baby.

The Amazing Things I See At Ann Arbor Babywearers/Babywearing International of Ann Arbor.

The experience of sharing babywearing in a peer to peer helping environment is amazing.  Watching parents help eachother, with unique, yet universal problems, in their own personal way, is really inspiring and wonderful to see.

Beautiful excecution of a Robins hip carry, in a Jade Brown Dyed by sweet overseas mama. Perfect for these two awesome people! I love how this carry keeps the baby a bit out of the way but they are still right in front of you for easy monitoring :)

Check Out All The New Instructional Video Links On The Sidebar!!!!

Kyle, Twan, and I have been working very hard to update our videos and make them easier to find for everyone!  Please Note that there are new widgets on the side for wrapping with stretch wraps and wrapping with twins.  There is also a new sticky page at the top of the blog with individua links to individual videos on different carriers and wrapping styles.   I hope this makes it easier on everyone as our collection of instructional videos continues to grow!  Check out Kyle in his first video in the link on the side for stretch wraps and hybrids :) I think he did an amazing job!!  Thanks to everyone who helps me find the time to keep making videos, it’s so worth it!!

Sunday Fun With Spacemom3!! Wrappers Storm the Mall!

On Sunday we had a special little Ann Arbor Babywearers gathering at Briarwood Mall to meet up with or long time online friend spacemom3!  She was here with her beautiful family from France!  It was amazing to see her in real life as we have know eachother online for a long time :) .   We all had so much fun with some really special wraps, and really special moms and babies! :)

This is a Bebina Starsign Aquarius, which is Zephyr's sign. :)

Kim showed me how to do a great new to me back carry called the 4R or Drs2s or Double rebozo with a shoulder to shoulder built in chest pass :) She used my 2010 Black and White Pfau :) I made a new instructional video :) Do you Like the new link on the side?

She brought her beautiful Egyptian cotton Pamir for us to try.

I forgot how fun a mall meetup is. :) The looks we get!

They were such a beautiful family, :) they had 2 more girls! :) so 3 total :)

summer meetings

Hi all! This is me most of the time! zephyr is 4 months old now!

I had a wonderful private meetup with this mama working on back carries in her ellaroo wrap.

This carry we worked on is 1/2 Back wrap cross carry, and 1/2 of a regular rucksack carry. :)  here is the url to the video. :)

Lion is a very good negotiator. He loves to make sure things are going he way. Preschool is a fun distraction for him. He has tons of friends and LOVES to make things and sing and dance. :)

post mothers day week :)

Almost 3 months old in Natural Silk nino

I cant believe my little one will grow up to be a big boy like this!!

Wednesdays home visit was to a sweet mama who was a beautiful artist and had a super sweet 6 week old baby boy. We worked with botht the ringsling and the moby wrap.

I seriously, could never have any other job, ever again.

A carrier is a good fit when it can mold to a babies body. A carrier should always support a baby all the way to the back of their knees and have their bum slightly lower than their knee bend. :)

Biggest boy had school on Thursday :) We all love his turtle shell backpack.

This is a new to us old girasol. Girasol said it predated name or number :) It is a beautiful lemony yellow color with chocolate stripes on either side.

Old weave green tea is my favorite little boy workhorse wrap.

Lets get caught up to mothers day.

Can you believe Zephyr is 3 months old tomorrow?  I am in shock.  Lets hope for a lucky friday the 13th today.  I could really use it as opposed to the traditional downer.
