Babywearing in a time of great change.

Who ever thought that the woman who started this blog would be a full time working Mom with 3 Kids under 6.

I find endless comfort and closeness when I wear my children.  Snuggling down with one of my babies in a wrap is the ultimate in reconnecting with my family every evening after long days working at Elephant Ears.

I feel such a stron connection to my family every time a wrap one of my children. I can't believe Zephyr is already 2 years old!

My little last baby has grown up too fast. When I wrap him, we fall back into a close easy loving rythm that reminds me of when he was just a little bug, riding along with me everywhere to do everything.

This Wrap is Ela in Wonderland by the brand Kokadi. It is so full of love, I just had to add it to my collection. I think we happily waited 6 months while it was on preorder. :)

Ela is a dense wrap but thin, it will be great year round and I am so happy to have added it to my collection.  It was a great pick for us, having tall lanky kids,  because it has a bit of a wider width.  Judah has decided it is one of the prettiest wraps in the collection.

I caught one of the big kids that day too :) Wearing my children is still my reason for living. It drives me through every day and inspires me to meet every client I encounter where they are at, in order to introduce them to babywearing.

Ann Arbor Babywearers, The Community Support Network For Babywearing Education

Our Local chapter of Babywearing International is an amazing and active sight to see!

It is so much fun to spend time, just one mom to another, helping each other, for free.

Click the link on the side of my blog for Ann Arbor Babywearers meeting places and times!!

This local midwife referred her client to Ann Arbor Babywearers and came along to learn.

The excited mama was nursing in her Moby Wrap in no time at all.

When he was done, we put him upright for a long happy snuggly nap.

This is a beautiful upright laid back nursing position. Ultimate comfort for mom and baby, preventing gas build up in baby, and allowing a natural relaxed position for Mom.

Then up on to mama’s back for a view of the world!

Dad’s are always there mastering the art of babywearing right along with us :)

Thank you so much to Susan of The Blueberrytree.com for this amazing Green Zara with silk! We love it so much!!

Its thin, but it’s perfect still with Z!! After all, it’s hot these days!!

A happy nursing nap in Aqua Waves by Didymos

I ended the meeting with a photo session using one of the other leaders babies.  I used the photos to make an instructional sheet for our most often requested advanced back wrap carries.

Thanks to my Beautiful Demo Baby!!

just a taste of it :)  there are many steps :)

Thanks again to the volunteer babe for his cooperation! You have helped many others!

Everything’s coming up Roses!! A Wooly Oscha Review!

Wool.  Its a wonderful fiber,  rumored to be breathable in any weather, anti microbial and supportive and awesome,  but I’ve always been a tad wary of wrapping with it. Not for any really good reason mind you,  It takes a bit of gentle care is all, and sharing your wraps with Kyle isnt always a “Gentle” thing.   In any case, I’m finally reaching out and starting to try wool.  Lovely, thick, bouncy wool in this case.

This Is Cal. :) His mama was sweet enough to let me borrow him at an Ann Arbor Babywearers meeting yesterday in order to try out my brand new Oscha from the new Winter Solstice Collection.

I tied this little chunky monkey really high and tight and Oscha Roses Noel showed off its grippy, thick, no-sag support!!!

We enjoyed 40 minutes of pain free no pressure point weightless cuddletime before I had to rush off to my own kidlets, but let me re-state, this wrap is awesome!!!!!!! The colors are rich and deep in real life, I am very pleased with this release. My obsession with wool wraps seems to be just starting. :)

Girl Cuddles in Wrapsody Wraps!

Most days it feels like Judah is saying no to everything and resisting me at every turn. But I see pictures like this on my camera and i am reminded of how Babywearing gives us these little moments of joy amongst the "terrible 2's"

Wrapsody Baby Wraps are one of my favorite brands out there!  I absolutely adore the Bali Stretch for Tiny newborns and 30+ lb judah alike!  They rock for tandem wearing and especially twins.

I have been becoming obsessed with wrapsody wraps. Their softness is amazing and they are supportive with judah and not bulky at all. BTW, they are beautiful!!!!!!

Judah is long, and I am loving wrapping her stringy self in our wrapsody every chance I get :)

This mama of twin girls came in to Ann Arbor Babywearers looking for something less saggy than they Moby Wrap that she had. We put her in a Wrapsody and they were 3 happy girls! Both babies were sleeping happily and alternately looking at mama. :) This Beautiful colorway is called Brigid.

Babywearing brings us back together.

The First day back form my lactation consultants course I wore my middle babe a ton!

Petrol Ecru Fish thick version is our beat-em-up stained-up go to big kid wrap! This or Latemeria Fish or the "Whurple Whishies :) "

If she wasn't sso attached to her fish, I'd be grabbing my Oscha Nouveau Tiree more often. I am loving it with all 3 of my children! Such a high quality new brand!

Cuddling in a ringsling is always good because big kids get up and down so much.

Being gone monday through friday was really hard on us girls. Babywearing has really given us the chance to hook up and stay close while I jump back into helping people and working on babywearing advocacy in our country/city/world.

I'm so grateful to babywearing for helping me to reconnect to my children after a long trip away. This is a Sleeping Baby Productions Ringsling made from and Easycare wrap.

Review Time!! Nino Heaven and Earth, and Oscha Nouveau Tiree. Two Tough Wraps!

I know, Why not post each review on it’s own you say?  I just have been so busy with new adventures in babywearing that the reviews are building up.  Ky;e and I are building a parenting center in our community as a place to center education about parenting infants and building confidence and connection in parenting skills.  We are giddy with excitement.

Ok First up, Heaven and Earth really is Heaven ON Earth!!

So, first lets clear the air, the colors in real life are beautiful. Nothing like the posted swatch or the first leaked pictures from the trade show indicated :)

Ok, I have to say, this is an amazing wrap. Nino Heaven and Earth was expected to be a hit here and I am not disappointed.
It is a dense smooth medium-heavy wrap that is not thick, but easy to manipulate, and sooooo supportive and beautiful in lots of carries with multiple children of all ages. I have a 4 and I would seriously Ruck my 4.5 year old if he would let me.

It wraps and feels like p/e thin fish – - If that means something to you.    you would have to be a geek.  Scroll down if you are cool.

Wrong side first. This wrap ROCKS a torso carry. its nice and structured, no shoulder straps necessary!

this picture above is fairly true to color on my screen. It was a bad light day here

Judah is long and I love my size 4 for single layer carries with her. She has to be wrapped in a supportive wrap to make it comfortable and I have been using this with her often. I would say its a new favorite.

It lays cushy and bouncy on the shoulders, like only 100% cotton does for me   It was wonderful for single layer carries with Judah.

and one of our favorite carries; http://s391.photobucket.com/albums/o…t=M4H04507.mp4

The blue and the brown are very saturated and suit each other.

Ok Next Up My Nouveau!!

It wraps really well to start. :) I love the texture and the weight. it is going to be great going into fall and winter as it is on the heavier side.

As it breaks in its getting very moldable and easy to tighten. It has nice structure, but its not stiff.

And then the ultimate test. Lion asked to be wrapped and cuddle at bedtime and I grabbed nouveau and thought, "here goes!" It was awesome. 100% cotton with 50 lbs! This wrap falls into the toddler-worthy category.

He was having fun "being the baby again" and I cherished the moment. Nouveau was up to the task!

Thanks to my sweet client who made bringing our Nouveau into our life so much more fun!  Bringing babies closer is an amazing gift for the world!

Weekend Teething Pain and Happy Anniversary to US!!!!

Have I mentioned I lived In Nebbia Fish all day Saturday?

We played I Spy a Babyewearer at Elephant Ears Childrens Boutique. Its a dangerously cute store.

Sunday Was our 6th wedding Anniversary, our 7th anniversary of being together.  I would just like to say, that I am more in love with my husband and children every day.  My goal for our next year of marriage is to figure out a way to spend more time together and possibly make a career together through having some sort of family business.  Kyle is a wonderful husband and father and I feel so lucky to be on his team!!!!

Nepomunk Linen Dragons by Didymos

Atlantic Nino by Didymos is Lion's legacy wrap to use with his children, but I reached for it for my teething zephyr today. It is soft and perfect for a baby any age or size :)

Even in his somber state he is delicious. :)

This is what teething pain looks like for zephyr. Clear mucus running out his nose, drool, and lots of mild complaining. Wearing has been essential. Zephyr likes to be so high up on my back that we are cheek to cheek :)

This shot shows off the wrap, Natibaby Turquoise-grey Swallows, beautifully. I just love the serene design on this wrap. It is also wide, smooth, almots to the point of being slippery, if it wasn't for the turquoise linen having a bit of texture.

When we are cheek to cheek like this, Zephyr whispers sweet little words and sounds in my ears and I kiss his yummy soft face. Wrapping is such a luxurious experience of a baby.

Didymos Nebbia Naturally Dyed Linen Fish

Didymos Nebbia Naturally Dyed Linen Fish, I happen to think its my new favorite fishie (shhhh, don't tell latemeria)

This wrap has a beautiful blend of true black cotton and a bold yellow/green naturally dyed linen. It is a medium to lightweight fabric, and has been great with both zephyr and Judah in multilayer carries. I have a 7, so I haven't tried single layer carries yet. :)

Sleepy eyes :) The Linen in this wrap makes it supportive but lightweight. It is Definately not "summerweight" though. I am looking forward to using it tons this fall :)

I know that this photo is overexposed, but I love it. We have been cuddling in this fish for hours in back and front carries, and I think it is supportive and just a bit grippy, but not hot, even though it's black . Expect to see more of it, especially since I discovered that I love 7's for the DRS2S carry. :) I used it all of Ann Arbor Babywearers yesterday and It rocked! :)

Updating this post to say that we are loving Nebbia Fish for log naps as it gets cooler as well :) It is cool, hip and comfy and soft. It is more and more like my goldfish everyday, but a little bit heavier. Heaven snuggled together. All My wraps and I can't stop reaching for this beauty! :)

Oh, and I found my camera.  It was missing through this weeks Ann Arbor Babywearers meeting, which as you can all imagine had me, ummmm. . . . . . . . Frustrated.  Yeah, thats the word.

Anyway it was another great meeting with tons of new moms and experienced moms.  I love our group!

Caribe Linen Fish by Didymos

We have a new wrap in the house!  It is a size 4 Caribe Linen Fish by Didymos and we love it.  We are using it mostly for rucking all the children and the occasional front carry,  It is wide and kind of thick. But because of the fiber content (40% linen 60% cotton) it is airy when it’s on, and I’m liking it even in the hot weather. :)  It is just like my carmen fish in feel, and not as bouncy as latemeria fish, which i love in a long size.  I think that the linen and the width make this an ideal toddler-preschooler wrap even in single layer carries.  The color is so saturated and beautiful.  This first picture does it justice :)

We love it for all 3 of the children. Zephyr isnt much of a test for any wrap yet :)

But being comfy on the front with a lanky 2 yr old says a lot :) It shines :)

Daddy Approves. See it mold to her? she was happy for a long time in there :)

So Special to cuddle Lion. This wrap is perfect for this task :)

He always asks to get down too soon :(

Major Caribe Cuteness

What Ears? :) (Don't worry mom, his hair will grow to cover them :) )

Over all I’d say caribe fish is a great ruck wrap for bigger kids and a bit wide for older babies, but workable.  we are loving our 4 and planning on keeping it as a permanent part of the stash here. :)  It really earned it’s stripes!  (well, it’s fish I guess  )

After-Party at My Place!

These ladies didn’t drive all the way from Gennessee county for nuthin’!  After the meeting at The Indigo Forest, we all went back to my place and Geeked out on more wraps!  I don’t know how lauren managed not to get photographed.  Oh well, she was there. :)

We had a seriously great time!!!!

Natural Pfau 3 on Murphy girls!

Rosenholtz linen indio Ringsling by Kaela Baby for a knock out killer 2 hour + nap :)

Zephyr napped in Lauren's Black fish. It felt amazing! Totally hardcore! It was thicker than my firefish and felt something like my malawi fish. thicker, but not thick like latemeria fish. A dream to wear to be sure. I love the flatter supportive weaves. :)
